When I go to language settings it is still set for English, but the text is clearly not in English. I have changed the password twice and nothing changed. It is some kind of ransomware hijacking my email trying to extort money from me. It attacks multiple email with a warning and blasts my inbox with email sent to me from my account.

If your Outlook account has been compromised and the language has been changed, it's important to take immediate action to secure your account. Here are some steps you can follow to resolve the issue:

    1. Try Account Recovery: Go to the Microsoft account recovery page and follow the prompts to recover your account. Make sure to use any recovery options available, such as alternate email addresses or phone numbers that you may have set up.
    2. Change Language Settings: If you regain access, navigate to the settings to change the language back to your preferred option. This can usually be found under the account settings or preferences section.
    3. Secure Your Account: Once you regain access, immediately change your password to a strong, unique one. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) again, and ensure that your recovery options are up to date.
    4. Monitor for Further Issues: Keep an eye on your account for any suspicious activity and inform your contacts about the potential compromise to prevent them from falling victim to phishing attempts.
    5. Contact Microsoft Support: If you continue to face issues with the recovery process, it may be necessary to contact Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They can help you with account recovery and may have additional tools to verify your identity.

Taking these steps can help you regain control of your account and secure your personal information.
