Win11 25H2 WiFi6E Icon Display

I am using an Intel WiFi 6E AX210 160MHz chipset with driver version 24.20.0.4 on Windows 11 25H2. Although this computer is connected to WiFi 6E, the system does not display a WiFi 6E (or WiFi 6) icon.

However, on a Galaxy mobile device, the WiFi 6E and WiFi 6 icons are displayed correctly.

Is it normal that Windows does not show the WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E indicator in the WiFi icon? Have others experienced the same issue, or is there a known solution?

Below are the connection details:

SSID: XXXXXX (WiFi 6E only)

Protocol: Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax)

Security type: WPA3-Personal

Manufacturer: Intel Corporation

Description: Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX210 160MHz

Driver version: 24.20.0.4

Network band: 6 GHz (37)

Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 2402/2402 Mbps

Link-local IPv6 address: xxx

IPv4 address: 10.1.xxx.xxx

IPv4 DNS server: 8.8.8.8 (unencrypted)

Physical address (MAC): C4:03:A8:xx:xx:xx:xx

    Hi LSY,

Thank you for contacting to Microsoft Community.

As you mentioned, this is normal on Windows since multiple users have reported same observation. Windows 11 doesn’t add a “Wi‑Fi 6/6E/7” badge to the taskbar Wi‑Fi icon the way some Android devices (e.g., Galaxy) do. Instead, Windows shows the connection type in Settings → Network & internet → Wi‑Fi → (your network) → Properties, where you’ll see the Protocol (e.g., “Wi‑Fi 6 (802.11ax)”) and Network band (e.g., “6 GHz”). I suggest you verify via protocol and band fields or cmd, not via a special tray icon.
