I have a new computer and on my previous computer and I had never gotten myself too involved with microsoft's shenanigans.

However, my microsoft account that I was using on my former computer was hacked and the email that was used for the hacked account is able to used again. The email itself was not compromised, only the microsoft account.

I had done a tiny bit of digging on the internet and found that microsoft does not allow for previous emails to be used

With that said, the possible situations I can think of is that the hacker changed the email and maybe deleted the account or my microsoft account is currently at risk.

When I was creating the account with the same email, I was shown steps which put me under the impression that there is no data of my email in microsoft.

In summary, microsoft account was hacked, recreated brand new(?) microsoft account with the same email that was used for the hacked account.

Should I be worried of my account being hacked once again on the off chance that the hacker still has access to the seemingly brand new account?

If your Microsoft account was previously hacked and you have since created a new account using the same email address, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:

    1. Account Security: Since the hacker may have had access to your previous account, it's crucial to ensure that your new account is secure. Make sure to use a strong, unique password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) if available. This adds an extra layer of security to your account.
    2. Hacker Access: If the hacker changed the email associated with your old account and you have successfully created a new account with the same email, it is unlikely that they have access to your new account unless they have your new password. However, if you notice any suspicious activity or receive alerts about login attempts, you should take immediate action.
    3. Monitoring: Keep an eye on your account for any unusual activity. If you suspect that your account may be at risk, consider changing your password again and reviewing your security settings.
    4. Microsoft's Policies: Microsoft generally does not allow the reuse of email addresses associated with accounts that have been compromised. However, if you were able to create a new account with the same email, it suggests that the previous account was likely deleted or that the email was released back into circulation.

In summary, while you may not need to worry excessively about your new account being hacked again, it is essential to take proactive steps to secure it and monitor for any signs of unauthorized access.
