One note lagging with Apple pencil

I write in my one note with my Apple Pencil. But recently it’s been lagging. It doesn’t pick up what I write until like five seconds later if at all. And it keeps having the load screen pop up. It’s super annoying. It doesn’t look like it needs an update. I tried closing it and opening it again as well as restarting my iPad.
