If the quick repair using the 'Repair Now' button is failing to resolve the problem (it rarely does), the best option is to perform a full repair of your Office installation.

Open the Settings App (gear icon on your Start Menu)

Go to Apps, then scroll down to find Microsoft Office

Select that and choose Modify - Online Repair

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation.

Then check if the Office apps are working correctly.

If not, the best option is to completely uninstall Office restart (not shut down) your PC and re-install Office from your Microsoft account on this link.

If you're unable to open Microsoft Word and it prompts you to repair but the repair option does not work, you can try the following steps:

    1. Run an Online Repair: This is often more thorough than the standard repair option. Exit all Office applications, then go to the Control Panel, find Microsoft Office, and select the Online Repair option.
    2. Manually Open and Repair the Document: If you can access Word, try to open the document directly by selecting File > Open > Browse, then select the file and choose Open and Repair from the dropdown menu.
    3. Check for Registry Issues: Sometimes, issues with the Windows registry can affect Word. If you suspect this might be the case, consider seeking help to check for registry problems.
    4. Verify Your Office Account: Ensure that your Office product is properly associated with your Microsoft account by checking at https://account.microsoft.com/services.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, further troubleshooting may be necessary, such as reinstalling Office or checking for system updates.
