How do you check your email? Is it via the web www.outlook.com, or Outlook Classic, or New Outlook?
It sounds like the sorting of the email might be off??
If you are using Classic Outlook for example, make sure your mailbox is set to sort by date, from newest to oldest.. See if that might be the issue.
