Why is there not an "All Inboxes" feature on Outlook?

Microsoft, can you explain why Outlook on Mac and mobile have had a native All Inboxes view for years, yet the Windows desktop version, used by the majority of your enterprise customers, still doesn't have this basic feature in 2026? This is not a complex technical ask. It is a single folder that aggregates multiple inboxes. Every competing email client has it. Your own mobile and Mac teams built it. At what point does 'we're listening to feedback' translate into actually shipping something, or is the plan just to keep collecting upvotes on a feature request that's been open for a decade? This company has taken a turn over the past 10 years and frankly it is disgusting.

    Hi @Chase Schwarz

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A forum

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I genuinely understand how disappointing and exhausting it can feel to wait years for a feature that seems fundamental, especially when you see it available on other platforms. I’m truly sorry that this has left you feeling unheard.

I want to assure you that your message isn’t being dismissed or filtered into a generic response. The “All Inboxes” experience on Windows has been one of the most consistently requested improvements, and the level of dissatisfaction you and many others have expressed is absolutely understood.

While I’m not able to speak on behalf of the engineering teams or give commitments on timelines, I can confirm that your feedback is being forwarded directly to the Windows Outlook product group. They rely heavily on customer signals like yours to prioritize changes, and your experience helps reinforce the importance of closing this gap across platforms.

The main reason for this difference is that Outlook for Mac and Outlook for Windows are built on different underlying platforms. Outlook on Mac was rebuilt more recently using a newer framework that integrates directly with Microsoft’s cloud services, making it easier to combine multiple inboxes into one unified view.

Outlook for Windows, on the other hand, still supports a much wider range of account types and older data structures such as Exchange, IMAP, POP3, and local PST files. Because of this complex setup, merging all inboxes under one unified folder could lead to sync conflicts or performance issues.

The good news is that Microsoft is actively working toward unifying these experiences. The new Outlook for Windows (available in Windows 11 and Microsoft 365) is being developed using the same foundation as Outlook for the web and Mac. This approach will eventually allow more consistent features, and a unified inbox is one of the most requested additions under review.

In the meantime, you can use these methods to view or manage multiple inboxes in Outlook for Windows more efficiently, giving you an experience at least similar to Outlook's unified inbox.

In the meantime, you can still streamline your workflow by:

    • Using Focused Inbox to manage your most important messages across accounts, or
    • Keeping multiple inboxes visible side by side in the folder pane for quick switching.

As a forum moderator, I hope you understand that I don’t have the ability to modify or escalate product issues directly. However, I strongly recommend submitting your feedback through the Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub .This is the most effective way to ensure your voice reaches the product team and can be considered for future improvements.

User's image Once you've submitted your feedback, feel free to share the link here in the comments. I’ll be happy to upvote it to help bring more visibility.

Additionally, since many other users have expressed similar concerns but may not know where to submit feedback, if my response has helped you better understand the situation and guided you toward a possible next step, please mark it as the "Accepted Answer". Your action will help pin this post to the top, making it easier for others in the community who are experiencing the same issue to find your feedback and support it.

Thank you again for your time and for raising this important usability concern.

Because Microsoft is garbage now. Answered my own question because they clearly don't care enough about their customers and just give me an automated AI answer.
