If Microsoft Windows Defender has detected a Trojan type spyware on your PC, it is important to take it seriously as this can be a legitimate threat. Here’s how you should respond:

    1. Review the Notification: When you receive the notification, it typically includes options such as Clean computer or Show details. Click on Show details to understand more about the detected threat.
    2. Take Action: You can choose one of the following actions based on the alert level assigned by Windows Defender:
      • Remove: This will permanently delete the detected software from your computer.
      • Quarantine: This will isolate the software so it cannot run, allowing you to decide later whether to restore or remove it.
      • Allow: Only do this if you are certain the software is safe, as it will stop Windows Defender from alerting you about it in the future.
    3. Run a Full Scan: If you are unsure about the threat or if the notification does not provide clear options, it is advisable to run a full scan on your computer. This may take some time but will help ensure that all potential threats are detected.
    4. Follow Up: After taking action, monitor your system for any unusual behavior and check the History tab in Windows Defender to see all detected items.
    5. Stay Informed: For future protection, consider using additional tools such as Microsoft Safety Scanner to help detect and remove malware.

Taking these steps will help you manage the threat effectively and keep your system secure.
