How to connect my hearing aids to my Bluetooth on Windows 11?

My Bluetooth on my Windows 11 is working. However, I cannot connect my new hearing aids to Bluetooth. I was able to connect them before; but they needed to be repaired, so I disconnected them and am now trying to reconnect them. They do not show up on my list of devices and I can't seem to add them as a new device to my Bluetooth. Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

Thank you for sharing your question. I understand how frustrating it is when your Bluetooth is working but your hearing aids suddenly stop appearing in the device list especially since they paired successfully before the repair. It’s completely reasonable to expect them to reconnect as usual.

Based on my knowledge, hearing aids will only show up in Windows 11 if both your PC and your hearing aids support Bluetooth LE Audio, which is required for direct streaming. Not all Bluetooth‑enabled devices support LE Audio, and even many hearing aids labeled “Bluetooth LE” do not support LE Audio, so Windows cannot detect them.  Many Windows 11 PCs only added LE Audio support starting in 2023–2024, and if your PC doesn't support it, the hearing aids will not appear in Bluetooth pairing lists.

Manufacturers such as Oticon and Philips also note that your PC must support Windows 11 (version 22H2 or newer) and must have LE Audio–capable Bluetooth hardware and drivers for hearing aids to appear and pair normally. They recommend checking for a “Use LE Audio when available” option under Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Devices. If this option is missing, pairing will not work because your PC does not support LE Audio.

To resolve this, restart your hearing aids to place them back into pairing mode, turn Bluetooth on, then try Add device → Bluetooth in Windows. If your PC doesn’t support LE Audio, you may need a compatible accessory such as a manufacturer‑specific streamer or Bluetooth adapter designed for hearing aids.

To help me guide you better, could you tell me the brand/model of your hearing aids and whether your PC shows the “Use LE Audio when available” checkbox in Bluetooth settings?

Feel free to follow up I’m here to help you get them connected again.

    Best Regards,

    Noel

To connect your hearing aids to Bluetooth on Windows 11, follow these steps:

    1. Ensure Bluetooth is Enabled: Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
    2. Put Hearing Aids in Pairing Mode: Refer to the manufacturer's instructions to put your hearing aids into pairing mode. This usually involves a specific button press or sequence.
    3. Add Bluetooth Device: In the Bluetooth settings on your laptop, click on Add Bluetooth or other device and select Bluetooth. Your hearing aids should appear in the list of available devices.
    4. Troubleshoot if Necessary: If your hearing aids do not appear, try the following:
      • Make sure they are close to your computer.
      • Restart your computer and try again.
      • Remove any other Bluetooth devices that might be interfering.
      • Update your Bluetooth drivers through Device Manager.
      • Run the Bluetooth troubleshooter from Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.

Following these steps should help you successfully reconnect your hearing aids to your Windows 11 computer.
