Firstly, I AM NOT TECHNICALLY CAPABLE! I was a legal secretary, so I am familiar with all this stuff and I'm usually pretty good at asking Google AI and figuring things out myself, but trying to get this MS365 installed on my old PC is driving me CRAZY! I have been messing with it since Nov, 2025. Microsoft offers all kinds of troubleshooting, but it is not working. I have tried to "chat" on-line with their AI assistant to no avail - it gave me a tech support telephone number, which I thought was going to give me a "live" technician, but it just gave me a web address to try. Then I found another telephone number and tried to call it, but the AI recognized my phone number, just gave me a website and hung up on me! Microsoft does not offer very good tech support, so I am reaching out to this chat group. Anyone have any suggestions? I have already backed-up my pc to an external hard drive and I have a blank flash drive to download whichever version of Windows I need to download before deleting the Windows 7 Proff. currently on my PC. I am open to any further suggestions...

    Hi,

First, we need to check your PC's compatibility before installing Windows 10. I can then instruct you on how to do the installation.

Initially, in the Start menu search bar, type msinfo32.exe. Take a screenshot and post it here so I can see if it's compatible and help you with the situation.

    Thanks

It sounds like you're having a frustrating experience trying to install Microsoft 365 on your PC with Windows 7. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the installation issues:

    1. Check Compatibility: Ensure that your version of Windows 7 is compatible with Microsoft 365. Microsoft 365 may have specific requirements that older versions of Windows do not meet.
    2. Repair Office Installation: If you have previously attempted to install Microsoft 365, try repairing the installation. You can do this by going to "Control Panel" > "Programs" > "Programs and Features", selecting Microsoft 365, and choosing the repair option.
    3. Uninstall Previous Versions: If there are any previous versions of Office installed, uninstall them completely before attempting to install Microsoft 365 again. This can help avoid conflicts during installation.
    4. Use the Microsoft Support Page: You can refer to the Microsoft support page for detailed instructions on downloading and installing Microsoft 365. This page provides step-by-step guidance that might help you resolve your installation issues.
    5. Consider Upgrading Windows: If your version of Windows 7 is not legal or is causing issues, consider upgrading to a newer version of Windows, such as Windows 10 or 11, which are more compatible with Microsoft 365.
    6. Contact Microsoft Support: If you continue to have issues, you may need to reach out to Microsoft Support directly for assistance. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on your situation.

Since you mentioned that you have a backup and a flash drive, you can also consider creating a bootable USB drive with a legal version of Windows if you decide to upgrade your operating system.

I hope this helps you get Microsoft 365 installed on your PC!
