My speakers say they are on 100 but I cannot hear from them. When I run the test, I hear a very faint sound.

    Hi,

Is this a laptop or a desktop? If you are using an external speaker, please try connecting it to another device to make sure it is not the issue.

What is the exact make and model of your device?

In the search bar, type MSINFO32 and press Enter.

In the meantime, please try the following:

Use an older driver or uninstalling then reinstalling the driver:

    1. Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
    2. Expand Sound, Video, and Game Controllers.
    3. Right-click on your audio driver(Realtek HD Audio, AMD High Definition Audio, etc.)and choose Update driver.
    4. Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"
    5. Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."
    6. Select an older driver from the list and click 'Next.'
    7. Follow the onscreen instructions.
    8. if the problem continues, repeat 1-3 and hit uninstall device instead.
    9. Restart your computer(not shutdown) then check if the issue is resolved.

    Enable Windows Audio:

Press the Windows key + R, type services.msc and press Enter.

Scroll through the list and double-click "Windows Audio."

Click the "Start" or 'Restart' button to enable Windows Audio.

Double Click Windows audio, Choose Automatic from the Startup type, click Apply then Ok.

If your speakers are set to 100% volume but you can only hear a very faint sound, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take:

    1. Check Audio Output Device: Ensure that the correct audio output device is selected in your system settings. Sometimes, the system may be outputting sound to a different device.
    2. Volume Mixer: Check the volume mixer settings to see if the application you are using has its volume set low or muted. Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Volume Mixer" to adjust individual app volumes.
    3. Device Manager: Open Device Manager and check if your audio drivers are installed and functioning properly. If you see any warning signs (like a yellow exclamation mark), you may need to update or reinstall your audio drivers.
    4. Run Troubleshooter: Use the built-in audio troubleshooter. You can find this in Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, and then select "Playing Audio" to run the troubleshooter.
    5. Check Connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected and that there are no physical issues with the speakers themselves.
    6. Test with Another Device: If possible, test the speakers with another device to determine if the issue is with the speakers or the original device.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to consider further diagnostics or contacting support for your specific device.
