    Hi,

When you plug it in, do the front LEDs on the battery icon light up?

If so, try pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds and see if the screen turns on. If the LEDs light up but nothing appears on the screen, there might be a screen malfunction or a problem turning it on.

Does it beep when you try to turn it on? If the battery LED doesn't light up, check if the battery is removable on the back; remove it and try turning it on. If it still doesn't work, unfortunately it could be the power adapter or some internal hardware failure.

If your Gateway NE56R31U won't boot when plugged in and has no battery, there are a few things to consider:

    1. Power Supply: Ensure that the power adapter is functioning properly. Check if the power indicator light on the adapter is on when plugged into the wall outlet and the laptop.
    2. Connection: Make sure that the power connector is securely connected to the laptop. Sometimes, a loose connection can prevent the laptop from receiving power.
    3. Hardware Issues: There might be an internal hardware issue, such as a faulty motherboard or power circuitry. If possible, try to test with another compatible power adapter to rule out issues with the adapter itself.
    4. Reset: If the laptop has a reset button or a method to reset the hardware (like removing the battery if it were present), try that. Since your device has no battery, simply unplugging it and holding the power button for about 15 seconds can sometimes help reset the hardware.
    5. Check for Signs of Life: Look for any signs of power, such as lights turning on or sounds from the laptop when you try to power it on. If there are none, it may indicate a more serious issue.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to consult a professional technician for further diagnosis and repair.
