Hello there,

When I was filling out the information to register for free Azure account this got registered to wrong email account belonging to my college (Student Account) which is blocking me to access Azure Portal. During the process of registration I correctly entered the details of my personal Hotmail account I intended to use for this registration. I had to enter my credit card details and now I am stuck as I cannot access Azure platform though my college email account (not Microsoft) and I cannot open a support ticket, change anything not cancel neither use the account. I desperately need to find the way of being able to address this issue. I cannot find any information whatsoever and when try calling Microsoft over the phone I am being directed to hrlp.microsoft.com where I cannot find any information whatsoever.

Any help or guidance how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanking you. Alex

If you have registered for an Azure account using the wrong email address, particularly one that is associated with your college, you may face difficulties accessing the Azure portal. Here are some steps you can take to address this issue:

    1. Check Your Email: Ensure that you have access to the email account that was mistakenly used for registration. If it is a college account, you may need to contact your college's IT department for assistance.
    2. Use a Different Browser: Sometimes, signing up or logging in through a different browser or an incognito window can help resolve issues related to cached data.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: Since you mentioned difficulties in reaching support, try visiting the Microsoft account center to check if you can manage your account settings from there. If you are unable to resolve the issue online, you can attempt to find support through the Microsoft support page or community forums.
    4. Consider Creating a New Account: If you cannot access the wrong account and need immediate access to Azure, you might consider creating a new Azure account using your personal Hotmail email address. However, be aware that if you have already provided credit card information, you may want to resolve the existing account first to avoid any potential billing issues.
    5. Follow Up on Inactivity Issues: If the account is blocked due to inactivity, you may need to upgrade to a pay-as-you-go account as a workaround to regain access, as noted in some troubleshooting scenarios.

If you continue to face challenges, documenting your attempts and reaching out to Microsoft through multiple channels may yield better results.
