I paid for a new subscription with a friends and family pass but accidentally used the wrong email address. Now my files are saying they are expired because my old account was under a different email address.

I paid for a new subscription with a friends and family pass but accidentally used the wrong email address. All of my previous microsoft word and excel files on my computer are under a different email address. How can I fix this mistake? I appreciate your help.

Hi! Sorry to hear about this. If the subscription was paid for on the wrong account, you have two options:

    1. Cancel the subscription and request a refund, then purchase it again using the correct account. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/account-billing/how-to-get-a-refund-on-a-microsoft-subscription-67dca30b-b323-44d5-acc2-e02f9902c472
    2. Since this is a Microsoft 365 Family subscription, add the account you want to use to your family group and share the subscription with it, so you won’t need to refund the original purchase https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/share-your-microsoft-365-family-or-premium-subscription-b389b9ce-3ae3-4a82-9017-39d79972fcba
