When you receive one MAK for a pool of licenses, the key carries a fixed activation allowance. Each activation consumes one from that allowance, and you can check how many are used/remaining in a few following supported ways:
- Check in the Microsoft 365 admin center (Volume Licensing tab)
Microsoft 365 admin center > Billing > Your products > Volume licensing > View downloads and keys. The Keys pane lists each key with its Activations count.
- Use Microsoft’s free Volume Activation Management Tool.
