Copy and Paste Value in SharePoint List

Hi,

When working on a Windows PC, I am able to use Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste values from one cell to another in a SharePoint List while using Edit in Grid View, without having to double-click into the cell content.

However, on macOS, this does not appear to work when using Cmd + C and Cmd + V, even in Edit in Grid View.

Could you please advise on the fastest way to copy and paste values in SharePoint List (Edit in Grid View) on macOS without needing to enter each cell individually? I frequently need to copy multiple cells and paste them at once.

Based on your description, I’ve tested this on macOS from my side and was able to copy and paste values in a SharePoint List (Edit in grid view) for both single values and multiple selected values. Since the behavior may vary depending on the browser and local Mac settings, I’d recommend trying the steps below to rule out environment‑specific issues.

1.Try a different browser:

Please try the same steps using another browser on your Mac. I recommend Microsoft Edge for the best compatibility with SharePoint Online. If you are already using Edge, please also try Chrome or Safari to compare the behavior. Also, combine with step 2 below.

2.Clear browser cache and cookies:

• Sometimes cached data can affect how Grid View behaves.
• Clear cache and cookies in the browser you’re testing with
• Close the browser completely and reopen it
• Sign back in to SharePoint and test copy/paste again

3.Check macOS keyboard shortcut settings:

Please confirm that the default keyboard shortcuts are still in place:

• Open System Settings > Accessibilities > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts
• Make sure Copy is set to Cmd + C and Paste is set to Cmd + V
• If these shortcuts were customized or overridden by another app, reset them to the defaults and test again

4.If the issue still persists after trying these 3 steps above, I advise that you should create a new macOS user profile to rule out user‑profile‑specific settings or background utilities, please try creating a new macOS user account and test from there:

• Sign in to the new user account
• Open the browser, sign in to Microsoft 365, and test the same SharePoint List copy/paste steps
