Can you tell me where exactly did it pop up? In the app or on the web? Please share a screenshot if you don’t mind. Thanks

The pop-up is appearing because Windows or an app is trying to sign in with a Microsoft Entra work or school account, even if there is no such account actually in use. Remove or disconnect any work/school entry and, if needed, switch to or keep using only a personal Microsoft account.

    Use these steps on Windows:

    1. Check and remove any work or school account from the device
      1. Open Settings.
      2. Go to Accounts > Access work or school.
      3. If any account is listed there that looks like a work or school account, select it and choose Disconnect.
      4. Confirm and restart the device.
If there is no account listed, the pop-up is likely coming from a specific app (for example, Office, OneDrive, Teams) that is trying to use a work or school sign-in.
    2. Make sure only the personal Microsoft account is used in apps
      • In Office apps (Word, Excel, Outlook):
        • Open any Office app, go to File > Account.
        • Under User Information, sign out of any work or school account and leave only the personal Microsoft account.
      • In OneDrive on Windows:
        1. Select the OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area.
        2. Select Help & Settings > Settings > Account.
        3. If a work or school account is listed, select it and remove it. OneDrive supports multiple work/school accounts but only one personal account, so ensure only the personal OneDrive remains.
    3. Avoid adding a work or school account when prompted
      • When a sign-in dialog asks to add a work or school account to this device or shows an Entra registration page, choose No, this app only instead of allowing the account to be added to the device. This prevents the device from being registered as Microsoft Entra registered and reduces future prompts.
    4. If an account was accidentally added and the device registered
      • When Yes was selected previously, the device may have been registered in an organization’s directory. To undo that from the device side:
        1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
        2. Select the work or school account and choose Disconnect.
      • If the device is no longer accessible, go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/device-list, expand the device, and select Disable lost device.
    5. Confirm the account type
      • A Microsoft account is personal (used for Outlook.com, Xbox, Skype, etc.).
      • A work or school account is created by an organization using Microsoft 365 for business or education.
      • If a sign-in screen shows both Work or school account and Personal account for the same email, select the Personal account option to avoid work/school prompts.

If the pop-up continues after these steps, repeat the checks in Settings > Accounts and in each Microsoft app (Office, OneDrive, Teams) to ensure no work or school account remains signed in or added to the device.
