the issue is that I am apart of a microsoft family account my father made a long time ago, He has since died and I am 22 years old and it says I need to ask permission from an adult in my family in order to make a microtransaction on minecraft. I am unable to access my fathers email to approve this obviously as he is long dead, and I need to change my status to an adult.

Hi! When a user in a Microsoft family stops being a child, the system will automatically remove all parental controls from the account. If the controls are still in place, it usually means the age (date of birth) on the account is still set as a child. Support can’t change this.

If the birthday on your account matches your real one, you should also be able to remove yourself from the Microsoft family.
