When minimsiign the teams window to the bottom right on the screen, it focuses on the current speaker. How can you change this to focus on cotnent, and not the speakers?

    Hello @D,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum.

When minimizing a meeting window in Microsoft Teams (Picture-in-Picture view), the system automatically prioritizes the active speaker.

At this time, there is no built-in option to change the minimized window so that it permanently focuses on shared content instead of the speaker. This is current product design behavior rather than a configuration issue.

For reference, similar discussions confirming this limitation can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/4413918/is-it-possible-to-get-ms-teams-minimized-view-to-f

Down here are some workarounds that might be helpful for you

Option 1/ Use Teams on the web

    1. Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on your computer.
    2. Go to: https://teams.microsoft.com
    3. Sign in and join your meeting.
    4. Select another participant or shared content from the bottom filmstrip to change your focus view.

Option 2/ Keep the main meeting window open

Avoid minimizing the meeting window and use “Pin for me” on the shared content.

If this feature is important to your workflow, we recommend submitting feedback directly to the product team here: Microsoft Teams

In the minimized (presenter) meeting window, the view can be changed using the view controls at the top of that small window, but it cannot be set specifically to “Focus on content” there.

The minimized window automatically shows the active speaker and shared content. To change what is emphasized while presenting or viewing content, use these options instead:

    1. In the full meeting window, select View (or Change your view) in the meeting controls.
    2. Choose Focus on content to prioritize shared content and reduce distraction from video feeds.
    3. When sharing content yourself, the presenter meeting window will shrink; you can still switch between views (show more/fewer people, active speaker, or minimize completely) using the controls at the top of that minimized window, but there is no separate “Focus on content” toggle there.

So, to focus on content rather than speakers, switch to Focus on content from the main meeting view; the minimized window will continue to show the shared content alongside the active speaker as designed.
