Hi Shekhar Patil,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you are getting the “Can’t start your camera” error with code 0xA00F429F when opening the Camera app on Windows 11.
Please make sure you already tried the Q&A Assist steps. In addition, please help clarify a couple of points so the scope can be narrowed correctly:
- Is this a built‑in laptop camera or an external USB webcam?
- Does the camera appear normally in Device Manager without a warning icon?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
1, Check camera privacy permissions in Windows
- Open Settings
- Go to Privacy & security
- Select Camera
- Make sure Camera access and Let apps access your camera are both turned on
- Confirm the Camera app is allowed
2, Reset the Camera app
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps
- Select Installed apps
- Locate Camera
- Select Advanced options
- Select Repair, then Reset if Repair does not help
3, Verify the Windows Camera Frame Server service
- Press Windows + R
- Type
services.mscand press Enter - Locate Windows Camera Frame Server
- Make sure the service status is Running and startup type is Manual
- Restart the service if it is already running
4, Check BIOS or UEFI camera settings
- Restart the device
- Enter BIOS or UEFI setup
- Look for an option related to Camera or Integrated Peripherals
- Ensure the camera is enabled
- Save changes and restart Windows
5, Check for pending optional feature installs
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps
- Select Optional features
- Make sure Media Features or Camera-related components are installed
6, Create a new local test user account
- Open Settings
- Go to Accounts
- Select Other users
- Add a new local user
- Sign in with that account and test the Camera app
