I am running Entra Domain Services and I have 2 alerts AADDS104 and AADDS109. These seem to be related but no one on my team has deleted anything and nothing in the activity log shows anything deleted.

Domain services are working as normal because syncs continue to happen. It looks like Backups are being affected by this.

I am not sure where to look. I have checked the networking settings on the VM that's running as the domain controllers and all seems fine there.

AADDS109 - Domain Services creates resources to function properly, such as public IP addresses, virtual network interfaces, and a load balancer. If any of these resources are deleted, the managed domain is in an unsupported state and prevents the domain from being managed. For more information on these resources, see Network resources used by Domain Services.

This alert is generated when one of these required resources is deleted. If the resource was deleted less than 4 hours ago, there's a chance that the Azure platform can automatically recreate the deleted resource. The following steps outline how to check the health status and timestamp for resource deletion:

In the Microsoft Entra admin center, search for and select Domain Services. Choose your managed domain, such as aaddscontoso.com.

In the left-hand navigation, select Health.

In the health page, select the alert with the ID AADDS109.

The alert has a timestamp for when it was first found. If that timestamp is less than 4 hours ago, the Azure platform may be able to automatically recreate the resource and resolve the alert by itself.

AADDS104 alerts can occasionally appear during backend service maintenance or internal health checks in Microsoft Entra Domain Services. In such cases, the alert may remain visible temporarily even though the managed domain continues to function normally.

Please let us know if the error persists more than 4hours!

Unfortunately the alert is from Feb 23.

The biggest problem that I don't understand is the AADDS109 error just says "A resource that is used for your managed domain has been deleted. This resource is needed for Azure AD Domain Services to function properly."

This isn't helpful to understand which resource I need to be looking for. I still see the public IP, network interface and load balancer.

For different reasons, the alert can be older than 4 hours. In that case, you can delete the managed domain and then create a replacement managed domain for an immediate fix Please let us know if still the issue persists!

If sync works and only backup alerts are raised, the environment is not immediately at risk but this does require msft to investigate the managed domain service health internally.

Do I have to do anything on my end to trigger that investigation or has this thread already started that?

I have not had any updates via my ticket. Viewing the ticket in the Azure portal just shows that I've opened it.
The 2 errors are still showing same as before.
