API Management Services has Stopped

Question

How do I restart my API Management service. It has been in stopped state and it is affecting our customers directly. We need a fast resolution ASAP.

You cannot manually start / restart / resume an Azure API Management service once it is in Stopped / Suspended state.

APIM enters Stopped / Suspended due to one of these:

1. Azure Subscription was disabled / expired / billing issue
2. Invoice not paid on time
3. Subscription temporarily suspended
4. APIM stuck in backend “disabled by billing” or “soft-delete” state
