Auto-shutdown option in Poland Central

In the Azure Portal, when configuring a virtual machine deployed in the Poland Central region, the Auto-shutdown option cannot be enabled.

The portal displays the following message:

“The selected region does not support auto-shutdown.”

This behavior suggests that the Auto-shutdown feature is currently unavailable or unsupported for resources deployed in the Poland Central region.

Could you please confirm whether there is a planned roadmap or pipeline to enable this feature in the Poland Central region?

Additionally, is there any official documentation explaining why Auto-shutdown is not supported in this region?

This behavior is expected. The built‑in Auto‑shutdown feature for Azure Virtual Machines is currently not supported in the Poland Central region. 

When a VM is deployed in Poland Central, the Auto‑shutdown blade is disabled in the Azure portal and shows the message “The selected region does not support auto‑shutdown.” 

This is a region‑level platform limitation, not related to the VM size, operating system (Windows/Linux), or subscription type. 

This limitation applies only to the native Auto‑shutdown feature exposed in the Azure portal. Microsoft documentation for Auto‑shutdown describes the feature but does not guarantee availability in all Azure regions, and there is no public documentation or roadmap/ETA confirming when this feature will be enabled for Poland Central.

If scheduled VM shutdown is required in Poland Central, Microsoft recommends using supported automation approaches such as:

1. Azure Automation Accounts with Runbooks
2. Azure Logic Apps
3. Azure Monitor alerts triggering shutdown actions

These solutions work independently of regional Auto‑shutdown support and are fully supported across regions. Product Management has indicated that the feature is rolling out region‑by‑region, with availability expected to start landing in some regions around March, availability in Spain may follow shortly after.
