My account is locked from too many attempts. I'm unable to get into my primary email account, recovery codes need alternate email address. Am not getting any inbox to that account. Would like to speak with live agent. Thanks

    Hi,

If after 24 hours, you still have the same issue. Your account might be blocked due to suspicious activity. Please also try to fill out the Account Reinstatement form.

Because the account is locked after too many attempts and verification codes are not arriving, only the official self-service recovery and support options can be used.

    1. Use the Sign-in Helper / recovery flow
      • Go to the Microsoft account sign-in page and choose Recover your account when prompted, or use the Sign-in Helper tool referenced in support articles.
      • Follow the steps to verify identity using any available method (alternate email, phone, or security info). If codes are blocked or not arriving, avoid repeated attempts for a while, as excessive requests can extend or trigger blocks.
    2. If verification codes are not arriving
      • Follow the guidance in the verification-code troubleshooting article: avoid excessive or repetitive requests, check junk mail for messages from @accountprotection.microsoft.com, and ensure the alternate email/phone is correct and accessible.
      • If the account is temporarily blocked due to unusual activity or too many requests, waiting (up to 24 hours or longer, without repeated attempts) may be required before trying again.
    3. Use the Microsoft account recovery form (if normal reset fails)
      • If standard reset and codes fail, complete the Microsoft account recovery form as described in the “Help with the Microsoft account recovery form” article.
      • Use a device and location normally used with the account.
      • Provide a working contact email (can be any account, including a new Outlook.com address) where Microsoft can send updates.
    4. Contact a live Microsoft support agent
      • A live agent cannot override security or send codes, but can help with the process and technical issues:
        • Go to the Contact Microsoft Support page referenced in the verification-code article.
        • Enter the problem (for example, “recover account” or “verification code not received”) and select Get Help.
        • Scroll down and choose Contact Support.
        • Sign in with any working Microsoft account (if necessary, create a new one) and select the appropriate product/category (for account access or Microsoft account security).
        • Choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser or a callback option if offered.

These are the only supported ways to unlock a locked Microsoft account and reach a live agent; direct manual unlocking without passing the automated checks is not available.
