I am trying to login into my [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@hotmail.com account and it will not let me login. It has this new key code and it does not work on my phone and my other email I am linked to it [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@hotmail.com so I can't log into that either. Then when I add another email account like [Moderator Note: Personal Info Removed]@gmail.com it gives me a code and then says I need to verify my email and then says I failed verifying my email. I really need to get my email. its been two days now. This is very very very frustrating.

    Hi Rachael Willis,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Please note that our forum is a public platform, and we will modify your question to hide your personal information in the description. Kindly ensure that you hide any personal or organizational information the next time you post an error or other details to protect personal data.

Based on the details you shared, it appears you are experiencing a sign‑in interruption during account verification, including receiving verification codes that cannot be used, or being unable to access your linked security information.

First, please try signing in again using a familiar device and an InPrivate/Incognito window by visiting: https://account.microsoft.com

This helps refresh the session and avoids situations where the verification code is rejected due to an outdated or cached sign‑in state.

If you still cannot receive a verification code, or you receive one, but the system does not accept it, please proceed with the account recovery form at: https://account.live.com/acsr

To improve the chances of a successful verification, please provide as much information as possible, such as:

    • Any older passwords you remember
    • The approximate year you created the account
    • Microsoft services you previously used (Outlook/Hotmail, OneDrive, Skype, Xbox, etc.)
    • Recent email subject lines you’ve sent or received
    • Billing information if you have ever purchased Microsoft services
    • An email address or phone number you currently have access to for receiving recovery notifications

If the system notifies you that there is not enough information, please wait 24 hours before submitting the form again with additional details. Submitting multiple attempts too close together may result in an automatic rejection.

Note: Please follow the steps in our documentation to enable e-mail notifications if you want to receive the related email notification for this thread.
