I have two emails from this address saying there's fraud but I have no idea if the emails are legit or not?

Yes the sender address itself does look legitimate.

azure-noreply@microsoft.com is a real Microsoft-owned address and is commonly used by Azure / Microsoft Entra to send automated notifications (alerts, billing notices, security or fraud warnings).

What you should do next (safe verification)

Do not click any links or call any phone numbers in the email.

Manually open a browser and sign in directly to:

https://account.microsoft.com (for personal Microsoft accounts), or

https://portal.azure.com (if you use Azure)

After signing in, check whether there are any security alerts, billing issues, or fraud notifications shown in the portal.

If the alert is legitimate, it will always be visible in the portal when you sign in directly, not only communicated via email.

I also received two emails back to back from azure-noreply@microsoft.com

First one indicated “Your Azure Monitor alert was triggered” and the next “Your Azure Monitor alert was resolved.”

Both summarize a $499.99 charge for windows defender & a number to call to dispute. I am assuming these are spam, but very concerning that they are able to mask as legitimate Microsoft email addresses.

I have received the following from the same address: Your Azure Monitor alert was triggered.

Finding it quite concerning as well, and will keep an eye on this. It claims issues about a transaction for 499.99USD for Windows Defender.

I received the same two emails today and have no charges on my cards. My Microsoft account also has no alerts so this seems like a scam. Very concerning they can use a real Microsoft address to email now…

I received the two alerts as well. I checked my Azure portal and nothing. Should I report the emails as phishing attempt?

I did too. Very concerning. Usually you can tell by the email address. This seems legit, but clearly is not.

I received the same email this morning. Didn't click on any links in the email because I know I haven't used Azure before. Logged in and don't see any transactions. This looks like a phishing scam, so please don't click on anything in the email if you see something like this. Right click on the emails and press report > report for phishing.

I am also getting these weird alerts and I do not have an azure account.

This is some kind of phishing and it seems to be coming directly from Microsoft.

Sadly I am unable to provide the email to you as .eml, .msg, or even .png (image too large) I guess you are not interested in fraud coming directly from your own company.
