I paid for 1 year of MS 365 Business for $150.00 on 09/26/25. Since then I have repeatedly been billed $150 per month to my credit card. I disputed the charges from October to Current and cancelled my card but now my subscription has been cancelled. I need to be refunded for the months of October, November, December, and January for the amount of $600 and my subscription needs to be reactivated for the rest of the year that I paid for.

my phone is**[Moderator note: personal info removed]** please call me. I cant get through to anyone who is alive and your automated system just hangs up on me.

    Dear DeAnne Ray,

Good day! Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I want to begin by sincerely apologizing for the frustration and inconvenience this issue has caused you.

First, may I ask where you purchased this subscription? Are you still able to sign in to the Microsoft 365 admin center? Additionally, did you receive any billing or charge notification emails for the months in which you were charged?

Since cancel subscription and refund request things need action/approval from Billing team, here are some steps I recommend you try:

Method 1: Contact Microsoft Data Protection Support by Phone

Since you are locked out, the most direct method is to call Microsoft's support line to raise a request for cancelling the unexpected subscription. For a full list of regional numbers, you can also visit this official page: Customer service phone numbers - Microsoft Support. The support team will assist you as soon as possible.

Method 2: Submit a Support Ticket if you still have access to the Microsoft 365 Admin Center

    • Open the Microsoft 365 Admin Center, then click Help & Support located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
    • In the search bar, type “Request refund” > Enter > scroll down, and click on "Get Help" > "Contact support".
    • Choose your preferred contact method, fill in the required details, and then click Contact Me to submit your request.

Method 3: Create a Temporary Account (Trial Tenant) to Submit a Support Ticket

If you have difficulty reaching an agent by phone, there is a reliable workaround. This involves creating a new, temporary Microsoft 365 account to contact the support team online.

    • Sign up for a new Microsoft 365 Business trial using this link: Compare All Microsoft 365 Plans.
    • Once the trial account is created, log in to its Admin Center.
    • From the Admin Center, open a new Service Request.
    • In the ticket description, explain that you need to cancel the subscription of your primary tenant (your.onmicrosoft.com) and that you need to speak with the Billing team.
    • For reference:  Get support | Microsoft Docs

Important: Please remember to cancel the trial subscription after your original account issue is resolved to avoid any future charges.

Once you can reach out to the Billing Team, you can share:

    • The exact charge description from your bank or credit‑card statement
    • Last 4 digits of the card used
    • A screenshot of the charge (optional but helpful)

_Contact a Reseller (if applicable): _If your Office subscriptions are managed through a federated partner or reseller and the Global Admin cannot open a service request, they should contact the reseller’s support provider. The reseller can assist with initiating the request and coordinating with the Office support team.

Please understand that as forum moderator, my primary goal is to provide helpful guidance and support through general troubleshooting steps. While I don’t have access to internal systems required to resolve account issues, I truly appreciate your understanding of these limitations. I genuinely hope the information I share helps guide you in the right direction, and I'm always here to assist as much as I can within my scope.

I hope this helps! Please feel free to reply below if you have any update or further concern.

Your understanding and co-operation are highly appreciated. Thanks for your precious time. Have a nice day!

Billing issues and subscription reactivation for Microsoft 365 Business cannot be handled from this forum and require direct interaction with Microsoft support and access to the billing account.

Use these steps to move forward:

    1. Investigate the repeated charges
      • Go to the Manage your payments page of the Microsoft account dashboard to review and identify the charges and which subscription/account they belong to. Guidance is here: How to investigate a billing charge from Microsoft (linked from the articles below).
      • Confirm that the correct Microsoft account is being checked, as using the wrong account is a common cause of confusion about charges.
    2. Check who the subscription was purchased from
      • If Microsoft 365 was purchased through a third-party retailer (for example, Amazon, Best Buy, Google Play, Apple App Store), Microsoft cannot cancel or refund that subscription directly.
      • In that case, contact the retailer’s customer support for cancellation and refund, as all refund requests must go to the third party that received the payment.
    3. Check refund eligibility
      • For subscriptions purchased directly from Microsoft, cancellation is required before refund eligibility can be checked.
      • Use the guidance in How to get a refund on a Microsoft subscription to see if the extra monthly charges qualify for a refund. Not all cancellations result in a refund, and eligibility depends on the subscription type, country, and timing.
    4. Reactivate the cancelled subscription (business)
      • For a Microsoft 365 business subscription that has been cancelled or expired, reactivation must be done in the Microsoft 365 admin center by someone with the appropriate billing/admin role.
      • Follow the steps in Reactivate your subscription in the Microsoft 365 admin center. Ensure the account used has the required billing role (Billing account owner/contributor or Billing Administrator, depending on the billing agreement type).
    5. Contact Microsoft Support for billing correction
      • Because this scenario involves disputed charges, refunds, and reactivation, direct support is required.
      • Use the Contact Microsoft Support entry point referenced in the articles below, choose the Microsoft 365/Office and billing category, and use chat or request a call back. Provide details of the initial annual payment, the subsequent monthly charges, and the card dispute so support can review and adjust the billing and subscription status where eligible.

If the subscription was purchased through a third party (including app stores), contact that provider for both refund and subscription correction, as Microsoft cannot access or refund those payments.
