Laptop won't shutdown.

Whenever I try shutting it down, it stays on the shutting down screen with the spinning circle and nothing else happens and I have to manually shutdown with the button so that it closes, I tried running sfc /scannow but it said there were no problems, is there something else to do or could this be a hardware issue?

    When did the shutdown issue first start occurring?

    If a system restore point is available, please try performing a System Restore and check whether the PC can shut down normally afterward.
