Messages are not populating live in chat

Any time I receive a message, It does not populate in the chat. I need to refresh the page on browser GroupMe, or on my phone. When on my phone, I need to go back to the menu of my messages, pull down to refresh, and then click back into the message to see what was written. I have logged out, uninstalled, checked settings, and updated my phone and PC. How do I correct this?

    To resolve this, try ensuring background app refresh is enabled, verify that battery optimization is not restricting GroupMe, clear the app cache on your device, and check that your network connection allows real‑time data. Signing out and back in after clearing the cache often re-establishes sync. On the web, try opening GroupMe in a private or incognito browser session or clearing browser cache to rule out corrupted data. On your phone, make sure notifications and app permissions are fully enabled, then relaunch the app to test live message updates.
