Hello,

Please find the minidump file attached below: https://1drv.ms/u/c/f48a3f71bff32c95/IQDXfvU_9kv-RIPsOSRxM-l4Ae-N0A0JY52FIcRDKYDUBWA?e=0ObJ5p

I’m hoping someone can help identify the root cause of a long-standing issue that has persisted despite extensive troubleshooting and even full hardware replacement.

System Specifications

• CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D
• GPU: GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
• RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz Corsair Vengeance (Black)
• Motherboard: MSI MAG X870E Tomahawk WiFi

Background

Since around October/November, I have been experiencing recurring system instability, including:

• Brief system freezes
• All monitors going black for several seconds
• Displays returning to normal afterward
• Windows device disconnect sound
• Event Viewer showing nvlddmkm Event ID 153 TDR reset

These incidents occur randomly, sometimes once per day, sometimes multiple times. There is no consistent trigger. It can happen while gaming, watching content in a browser, or even when the system is idle.

Troubleshooting Performed

NVIDIA Driver Troubleshooting

• Rolling back to NVIDIA driver 581.80 initially resolved the issue temporarily
• Performed DDU and installed older drivers as newer ones were suspected unstable This fixed the issue for 3 to 4 days before it returned
• Performed a full Windows reinstall as advised by Cyberpower Installed the latest NVIDIA drivers after reinstall The issue returned after approximately 3 days

Additional Steps Taken

• Updated BIOS to the latest version
• Disabled Fast Startup
• Disabled Hardware Acceleration
• Disabled Variable Refresh Rate
• Set Windows power plan to Maximum Performance
• Set NVIDIA Control Panel power management mode to Maximum Performance

Hardware Replacement

Cyberpower replaced all hardware components a few weeks ago.

However, after receiving the system back, the same black screen issue with nvlddmkm Event ID 153 continued. This time it was occurring while gaming. When games crashed, I received DirectX errors.

I then modified the TDR delay in the registry by increasing the delay value. This appeared to stop the issue for approximately two weeks.

New Issue Today

Today I experienced a BSOD:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (50)

I am unsure whether this is related to the previous TDR and nvlddmkm issue or an entirely separate problem.

Main Question

Could the long-term nvlddmkm TDR resets and black screen crashes be related to this new PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error?

At this stage:

• Windows has been reinstalled
• All hardware has been replaced
• BIOS is updated
• Drivers have been rolled back and reinstalled multiple times

I am trying to identify the true root cause, as the issue has been ongoing for several months and is becoming extremely frustrating.

Any assistance in analyzing the dump file or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Your minidump file indicates the Nvidia graphics driver as the cause of the crash while you were playing GTA V (FiveM), there is no other problem indicated on your system.

I see you have already used DDU to replace the Nvidia drivers, the best option is to perform those steps again and try installing a couple of other versions of the drivers Nvidia provide on their website.
