Change router for EPSON 3830 Printer

I am trying to connect my new computer to my EPSON ET-3830 printer. When I complete the process the message states that I am connected to EPSON3E7C0C

This is not the number of my printer. ???????????

Does it still print ok though? If it doesn't print, that's something we want to work further on.

But if it prints, this is completely normal. Epson doesn't necessarily display the model name, but rather the hardware ID name. For example, my ET-2850 is display as EPSON31BC12. This is so that if you have two same model printers set up, there's unique ID for each.

If you want to rename it, go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printer and scanner. Click onto your printer, then expand Additional printer settings, click on Rename.

EPSON3E7C0C is the wireless network name (Wi‑Fi SSID) being broadcast by the printer, not the model number. To use the Epson ET‑3830 from the new computer, both the printer and the computer must be connected to the same home Wi‑Fi network (the router’s SSID), not directly to the printer’s temporary Wi‑Fi.

Use these steps:

1. On the printer
   • Use the printer’s built‑in menu to connect it to the home Wi‑Fi network (the router’s SSID and password). The exact steps are in the Epson manual or on Epson’s support site.
   • After setup, the printer should show it is connected to the home Wi‑Fi, not to its own EPSON3E7C0C network.
2. On the Windows computer
   • Make sure the computer is also connected to the same home Wi‑Fi network (same SSID as the one configured on the printer), not to EPSON3E7C0C.
   • Select Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
   • Check if the Epson ET‑3830 is listed. If not, select Add device and wait for Windows to find the printer on the network, then select Add device for that printer.
   • If it still does not appear, select Add manually and follow the on‑screen instructions.
3. If the printer still cannot be found
   • Power‑cycle the printer: turn it off, unplug for 30 seconds, plug back in, and turn it on again.
   • Confirm again that both the printer and the PC are on the same Wi‑Fi network (same router SSID).
   • If needed, remove the printer from Printers & scanners and then reinstall it using Add device.

If the printer is installed but shows as offline or in error, use the Windows printer troubleshooting steps and ensure it is on the same Wi‑Fi network as the computer.
