Transferring Authenticator app from IOS to Android Problems

Hi, I’ve been having problems transferring my authenticator app from my old phone to my new one. I moved from an iPhone to an Android, and when I downloaded the authenticator app on my new device, none of the accounts seemed to transfer across.

I still have access to my old phone and account, but whenever I need to sign into something, I have to use the old phone to get the codes. I can’t seem to find a way to transfer all the accounts at once. Even though I am using the same email and account, I have only managed to manually set up one or two of the old accounts.

Furthermore, when I try to set up accounts for the likes of Facebook or Instagram, it tells me that I can’t because an account is already set up. I am concerned that the old phone could stop working at any time and I will lose access to my codes and accounts entirely.

    Hi Eoin,

I would have suggested MS Authenticator backup and restore but you can only backup and restore on the same device type: accounts backed up using an iOS device cannot be restored on an Android device.

Can you register your Android device for MFA On all the accounts ? If that is easy to move across from IOS to Android if that helps. As IOS and Android are both diff OS they dont support MS Auth migration.

    Hope this helps.
