Hi, I'm trying to transfer my Skype number and the new provider asked me to identify which provider Skype uses. Can anyone help me with this problem?

For porting a Skype Number, the new provider does not need the underlying carrier name; they only need to initiate a standard number port-out request using the Skype Number and your account details.

    The official guidance is:

    1. Contact the new provider and ask them to start the porting (number transfer) process for your existing Skype Number.
    2. Provide any information they request (typically the number itself, your name, address, and account details).
    3. If the number is from France, obtain the RIO code first by calling the Voxbone/Bandwidth toll-free number at +33805080975, then give that RIO to the new provider so they can complete the port.

For all other countries, the process is handled directly between the new provider and Skype’s telephony partners; the specific provider Skype uses is not required from the customer side.

If there are issues or delays, open a case with Skype Customer Support and state that you are trying to port out your Skype Number so they can review the porting request.
