    Hi, good day!

Make sure that you are the only one who has physical access to your computer because anyone who turns on your computer can access your data, apps, and saved credentials without needing a password.

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type: netplwiz

Press Enter to open User Accounts window

Uncheck "Users must enter a username and password to use this computer"

Select the account you want to sign in automatically.

Enter the username and password for the account you want to automatically logon

(Important) If you are using a Microsoft account, make sure to enter the full email address.

Type your full email address and enter your password and Click Ok

I look forward to receiving your update and I'm willing to collaborate with you till we resolve the issue. Do keep me informed by clicking "Add comments" below.

    Security Disclaimer:

Enabling automatic sign-in bypasses the Windows login screen, allowing anyone who has physical access to this computer to view its contents without authentication. This setting may make sensitive data, stored credentials, and personal files available to unauthorized users. It is strongly advised to utilize this feature only in secure and private environments. Users are liable for any data loss, privacy violation, or unauthorized access that results from this setting.

To stop entering a password when powering on a Windows 10 laptop, there are two main approaches depending on whether the goal is to avoid passwords entirely (go passwordless) or just avoid typing a password at startup.

    1. Go passwordless with Windows Hello (recommended for security)

This keeps the device secure but removes password use in favor of PIN, face, or fingerprint.

    1. Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
    2. Under Additional settings, turn on For improved security, only allow Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts on this device (on Windows 10 this is labeled Require Windows Hello sign-in for Microsoft accounts).
    3. If Windows Hello is not set up yet, configure a PIN (Windows Hello), fingerprint, or face sign-in under Ways to sign in.

After this, the account password will no longer be used on the sign-in screen; Windows Hello methods will be used instead.

    1. Reduce how often Windows asks for credentials after the device is already signed in

This does not remove the initial sign-in requirement after a full restart, but it can reduce prompts when the device wakes from sleep:

    1. Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
    2. Under Additional settings (Windows 11 wording) or Require sign-in (Windows 10 wording), choose when Windows should require sign-in again after being away.

Note: Completely disabling sign-in on startup reduces security and is not covered in the provided guidance. Using Windows Hello passwordless sign-in is the supported way to avoid typing the account password while keeping the device protected.
