I run Outlook under Microsoft 365 subscription. THis is personal subscription, for work or school. I link Outlook to two private email providers, one being gmail.com and the second being gci.net. Both run very slowly. Inboxes fail to sync timely and sent emails sit in the outbox for long periods of time before they are sent.

Thank you Gene, no problems and no need of a screenshot.

Let me know if the following helps.

    1. Press the Windows+R keys on the keyboard, or Right-click Start on the Taskbar and choose Run.

    Type ncpa.cpl

    Press Enter.

    1. Right-click your device and select Properties.
    2. Double click IPv4 options to open IPv4 properties.
    3. Select the """"Use the following DNS servers"""" radio box, and enter the following in the addresses.

    1.1.1.1

    1.1.2.2

    1. Click OK and OK again.

    Restart your computer.

Please keep me posted, and Good luck!

Sumit, thanks for the suggestion. I implemented your instructions, rebooted the laptop, and re-opened Outlook. Best I could tell, it made no difference. After an hour, I returned and it was still synching, with the progress bar at the bottom showing about 90% complete for both email addresses. I don't know when it completed. I went to bed. It was completed the next morning.

Thank you, that helps. If you run a Speed test from https://speedtest.net, what speed is reported?

Sumit, thanks for your reply. In response:

    1. No, I am not on a university network. I am retired. I have a home office. This is a personal use/account with Microsoft 365. I am running PC-based software. I have cable modem service. Speed tests show 300Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload speeds. I am running Windows 11 on a Dell Laptop (Insprion 14 2-in-1), recently purchased new. Windows Updates and Office updates are current.Version 2602 (Build 19725.20126). I am running classic Outlook.
    2. No VPNs are installed, to my knowledge. Perhaps it is my antivirus software that is causing it to run slowly? I have not disabled that. Send/Receive bar at the bottom moves very slowly to the right, and seems to get stuck or just slowly creep.

    Hi Gene,

There might be some network restrictions or hindrances in place, causing this issue. Are you on a university network?

Is there a VPN installed? Typically with VPN's Emails are pretty slow to sync.

I’m eager to hear back and work together to find a solution.
