There are two versions of Microsoft Office:
- Standalone which you purchased.
- A subscription known by the name of Microsoft 365.
I think Microsoft 365 might be installed, which is why it is preventing activation of the former. Let us remove all Office versions and reinstall Office standalone.

Get Help has the Microsoft 365 SARA tool open
- The tool will automatically detect your Office version and remove Microsoft 365 completely using a PowerShell window. It may take 10 to 15 minutes.
- Once done, restart your PC.
- You can then reinstall Microsoft Office from https://account.microsoft.com/services page and sign in.
