A Microsoft 365 Personal subscription does not automatically add any special “benefits” inside the Teams app itself. The subscription mainly affects:
- Ability to install and use the Microsoft 365 desktop apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Access to premium features in those apps
- OneDrive storage and other account-level services
Teams app subscriptions and licenses are managed separately inside Teams:
- In Teams, go to Apps > Manage your apps.
- Select the Subscriptions tab to see any app-specific subscriptions.
- Use Filter to check Pending or Active subscriptions.
If expecting a specific Teams app subscription (for example, something purchased through Teams), verify it appears there. If not, it may not be included with Microsoft 365 Personal and would need to be purchased separately.
To confirm that Microsoft 365 Personal is active on the account:
- Go to the Microsoft account Subscriptions page at the account dashboard.
- Verify that Microsoft 365 Personal shows as Active and that the correct account is signed in.
If the subscription is active and Teams still does not show what is expected, wait a bit longer and sign out and back into Teams. If the issue persists, contact Microsoft Support from the account/subscription page.
