Kinect for Xbox 360 has been discontinued, and service options are limited. Local, non‑authorized repair centers are not recommended because they are not part of the official Microsoft service network and may provide incorrect information or unsupported hardware.
To check official repair or replacement options for Kinect/Xbox 360:
- Make sure the Xbox 360 console is registered to the Microsoft account. For details, see Manage devices used with your Microsoft account from the support page.
- Go to account.microsoft.com/devices and sign in.
- Select the Xbox 360 console and choose Start order to see if service is still offered in the region for that device/accessory.
If online service is not available for Kinect in the region, the remaining official option is to look for in‑person Xbox support via authorized providers:
- Go to Find an Authorized Service Provider for Xbox consoles from the in‑person support article.
- Check whether any local authorized service provider can inspect the Xbox 360/Kinect and advise on repair or replacement.
If neither online nor in‑person service is available, Kinect for Xbox 360 is effectively end of service, and exchanging it for another device through a local shop would be a private arrangement, not an official Microsoft upgrade path.
