When i go to my sound console it shows my my realtek mic is not plugged in. How do i enable it?

When i go to realtek audio console, the recording devices are Microphone, Microphone array and Stereo Mix. None of the them record my audio.
The windows troubleshooter does not work because it shows the devices are not plugged in.

    Welcome Aakash Chandra Vandana,

Thank you for posting your detailed question!

From what you described, I understand your laptop integrated microphone is not being detected by Windows. In the Windows Sound console, the Realtek mic shows as “not plugged in.” Since you've various methods without success, please try the steps below to reinstall the device driver.

Step 1: Uninstall Realtek audio driver

    • Open Device Manager
    • Expand Sound, video and game controllers
    • Right‑click Realtek (R) Audio > Uninstall device
    • Check Delete the driver software for this device > Uninstall

Step 2: Download manually OEM Realtek driver

    • Go to your laptop manufacturer’s support site (Dell / HP / Lenovo / ASUS)
    • Find your exact model (press Win + R > msinfo32 > Enter)
    • Download the Audio / Realtek driver for Windows 11
    • Extract the downloaded driver

Step 3: Manually install the driver

    • Open Device Manager > Right‑click Realtek (R) Audio > Update driver
    • Select Browse my computer for drivers > Choose the extracted driver folder
    • Make sure Include subfolders is checked
    • Click Next and wait for installation to complete
    • Restart the PC and test the microphone again.

Tip: Disconnect other peripherals to avoid interference.

Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes!
