I'm trying to login with my newly created onmicrosoft.com email adress. I tried to reset my password, but therefore I need to sign in again. After giving in my email, I get into a login shithole loop:

  • Log-in with email
  • An code is sent to my alternate email
  • Call office phone: gives an error
  • alternative: use the authneticator app: this hasn't been installed yet and I need my login order to generate a code.

So I'm stuck in this loop of trying to login. You even need a login to get support. I'm now using my personal account in order to get help how to solve this issue.

Anyone has any ideas?

    Dear Pieter-Jan Boucquaert,

Good day to you and thanks for your post in Microsoft Q&A. I'm sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered.

Regarding your description, you cannot log into your Administrator account. So, I would like to give you some instructions to have a live support

    1. As an alternative, you can create a new tenant account and submit your request from there.
      1. To set up a new tenant, please follow these steps:
        1. Visit Find the right Microsoft 365 enterprise plan for your organization, choose any plan and click try for free to start a free trial.
        2. Follow the guided setup process to create a new account for a new tenant.
      2. Once your tenant is created, you should be able to access the support portal and submit your ticket without further issues
      3. Ticket Support: In the Microsoft 365 Admin Center > Support > Help & Support. You can raise support ticket https://admin.microsoft.com/#/support/requests
      4. Please remember to cancel the trial subscription once your issue is resolved to avoid any unintended charges.
    2. If you are the only admin and cannot access your account due to an authentication issue, it is suggested to contact the Data Protection team as we are from the community team and are not authorized to reset any user/admin accounts. The data protection team is the only support team to verify and reset the account. To find the Data Protection team's contact number, see Customer service phone numbers. (Please understand that we do not have the authorities for operating on the backends).
      1. Depending on your country or region. For some countries, when calling the support number, although there are about 30 seconds opening as something "you can visit the link...." But you can ignore this opening and wait until the option, then "1" as a business email user, "1" again for technical help.
      2. For some countries, it will be an automated conversation like: First, when you call the hotline, it asks what kind of problem you are worried about.
        1. Answered: authenticator.
        2. A: What kind of product are you using?
        3. B: Office 365 for business.
        4. A confirmation: education or company account?
        5. B: For companies
        6. A: Are you an administrator?
        7. B: Yes.
        8. A: Do you have the other admin in your organization?
        9. B: No.
        10. A: You need one.... Service request?

Once again, I sincerely apologize for the unpleasant experience. I look forward to your information and if you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me - I’ll be happy to assist you. Wishing you a wonderful day.
