I reinstalled my printer (Epson WF-4830) and cannot put an icon for it on my desktop, like the one that used to be there.

To get a printer icon back on the desktop in Windows, create a shortcut from the Printers & scanners (or Devices and Printers) view:

    1. Open the classic printer list:
      • Press the Windows key, type Control Panel, and press Enter.
      • Set View by to Large icons or Small icons.
      • Select Devices and Printers.
    2. Create a desktop shortcut for the printer:
      • In Devices and Printers, locate the Epson WF-4830.
      • Right‑click the printer and choose Create shortcut.
      • When prompted "Windows can't create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?", select Yes.
      • A printer icon shortcut for the Epson WF‑4830 will appear on the desktop.

If instead a general “Printers” desktop icon is desired that shows all printers separately, a registry-based method can be used to add a Printers icon to the desktop, which then lets you view and manage all installed printers from one place.
