    Hi Deerick,

What Insider build and Channel are you on?

WIN+R, type winver for the build #.

Or check the bottom right corner for the watermark.

Follow these steps in order to make Windows save pictures from the Camera app instead of showing an error.

    1. Change where new pictures and videos are saved
      1. Select Start > Settings > System > Storage.
      2. In Windows 11: select Advanced storage settings > Where new content is saved. In Windows 10: select Change where new content is saved.
      3. Under New photos and videos will save to, check the drive listed (for example This PC (C:)).
      4. If it is set to an external drive, make sure that drive is connected.
      5. Change it to another available location, select Apply, then change it back to the original location or This PC (C:) and select Apply again.
      6. Open the Camera app and try taking a picture again.
    2. Create a new Camera Roll folder
      1. Select Start > File Explorer.
      2. In File Explorer, select This PC, then open the OS disk (usually OSDisk (C:)).
      3. Create the folder:
        • Windows 11: select New > Folder and name it Camera Roll.
        • Windows 10: on the Home tab, select New folder and name it Camera Roll.
      4. Press and hold (or right‑click) the new Camera Roll folder and select Include in library > Camera Roll (in Windows 11, first select Show more options).
      5. Open the Camera app and capture a picture to test.
    3. Check permissions on the Camera Roll folder
      1. In File Explorer, open Pictures.
      2. Press and hold (or right‑click) Camera Roll and select Properties.
      3. Go to the Security tab.
      4. Under Group or user names, select the account that is currently signed in.
      5. In the permissions box, make sure Write has Allow selected.
      6. Select OK, then try saving a picture again in the Camera app.

If the Camera app still shows an error code when saving after these steps, use the Microsoft Community forums for additional troubleshooting specific to the exact error code shown.
