I cannot access my Gmail on Outlook anymore

While traveling out of the country I was asked to verify my identity and some thing didn't work. Now I cannot download my email on outlook.

You are most likely using Classic Outlook, which is a desktop application installed as part of the Office suite.

To fix Outlook Classic working offline, go to the Send / Receive tab and click Work Offline to toggle it off. Ensure "Working Offline" is not highlighted on the ribbon and the status bar at the bottom says "Connected". If stuck, restart Outlook, check your internet connection.

When you sign in from a different country or location, it may trigger a security check to protect your account. If there isn’t a backup security method set up (like a phone number or authenticator app), the verification can sometimes fail and temporarily block access.

At this point, the security lock may already be active. I recommend waiting at least 24 to 48 hours before trying again.

You can also try recovering or unlocking your account using Google’s account recovery page here: https://support.microsoft.com/account-billing/account-has-been-locked-805e8b0d-4141-29b2-7b65-df6ff6c9ce27 and click "Sign-in".

• You can use any phone number to request the security code.
• The phone number doesn't need to be associated with your account.
