Hi Sandra Steindl,
Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand you are seeing Automatic Repair after being prompted to enter a BitLocker recovery key, and Windows reports that it could not repair your PC.
To help narrow this down, could you please confirm:
- Did this issue start after a recent change such as a Windows update, BIOS/firmware update, or device reset?
- Is this a personal device running Windows Home, or is it linked to a work or school account?
In the meantime, you can try these steps:
- On the Automatic Repair screen, select Advanced options, then Troubleshoot.
- Select Advanced options, then Startup Settings, and restart the device.
- After restart, choose Safe Mode and check whether Windows can load successfully.
- Go back to Advanced options, select Command Prompt, and run a disk check.
- Type
chkdsk c: /f /rand press Enter, then allow the scan to complete.
- Type
- From Advanced options, select Uninstall Updates.
- Try uninstalling the latest quality update first, then restart.
- Return to Advanced options and select System Restore.
- Choose a restore point created before the issue started, if available.
