I am trying to sign in to a new laptop. I enter the needed information to include passkey, keep getting the "oops something went wrong, try again later" message. I have tried everything, nothing works. HELP.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

May I please know if you are trying to set up your laptop for the first time, or are you stuck at the Windows Hello sign-in screen?

If possible, try connecting your device to a different Wi‑Fi network, such as a mobile hotspot, or use USB tethering, and then check if you can verify your identity and sign in.

If you are being asked to use a passkey, please see if you can select “Another way to sign in” and use your password or alternate security verification methods, such as your email address or phone number.

    *--

If you are still having issues and you are setting up the laptop for the first time using your Microsoft account, we can try another method, such as setting up the device with a local account instead, and see if that helps.

Please let me know if you are able to use any other option to sign in to your computer.
