Go to your https://www.outlook.com and go to Settings.
Then go to General (gear icon - second tab). Then Language and time (middle column, first tab). Then you can change the language in the first dropdown.
My Hotmail account is chinese

i can’t change my Hotmail because it’s Chinese I think. I can’t understand to change it. Various websites say to click the gear icon but I don’t even have that! When I try to change the name it just says I can not change the name

2026-03-01T17:07:24.13+00:00 Do you only have the phone device to work on this recommendation? Because it is supposed to do it on the computer.
If you must do it on the phone only, you need to open the website in desktop version, not mobile version.
On your iphone, if you open outlook.com in Safari, click on the icon before the web address, should look like a retangle with two lines underneath, then click on three dots, then click on Request Desktop Website, then you should be able to follow my original instruction. Once outlook.com loads, click on the three dots on the upper right near your profile icon, and then click on the gear icon from there.
