Certifications are tied to the Microsoft Learn profile and the login accounts associated with it, not to an employer specifically. If access to the old company email (work or school account) is lost and no alternate account was added to the Learn profile, access to that profile and its data is also lost.
To try to recover or access certifications:
- Sign in to Microsoft Learn with any accounts that may have been associated with the certifications (for example, a personal Microsoft account or any previous work/school accounts) and check the Certifications tab and Certification Dashboard.
- If the certifications are missing from the current profile, follow the guidance for missing credentials and contact Microsoft Credentials Support so they can investigate and assist with missing exams or certifications.
- If the original login was a work or school account and that account can no longer be accessed, work with the former employer’s IT administrator to see if temporary access can be restored so that an alternate personal Microsoft account can be added to the Learn profile.
If neither the original personal account nor the work/school account can be recovered, Microsoft cannot restore access to that Learn profile or transfer its contents to a new account.
