    Hi Sathish Kumar,

Thanks for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A Forum. I understand that your laptop speakers are not working properly even after updating settings.

Please make sure you already tried the Q&A Assist steps. In addition, please try the following.

To help narrow this down a bit:

    1. Are you currently using Windows 10 or Windows 11, and does the issue occur after a recent update or restart?
    2. Do external headphones or speakers work normally when connected to the same laptop?

In the meantime, you can try these steps:

    1, Restart Windows Audio services

    • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter
    • Restart Windows Audio
    • Restart Windows Audio Endpoint Builder

2, Set the default playback device manually

    • Open Control Panel
    • Select Sound
    • Under the Playback tab, right‑click your laptop speakers
    • Select Set as Default and then select OK

    3, Check speaker balance levels

    • In the Sound window, select your speaker device
    • Select Properties and open the Levels tab
    • Select Balance and make sure both left and right channels are set equally

4, Roll back the audio driver (if recently updated)

    • Open Device Manager
    • Expand Sound, video and game controllers
    • Right‑click the audio device and select Properties
    • Under the Driver tab, select Roll Back Driver if available

5, Check BIOS or UEFI audio settings

    • Restart the device and enter BIOS or UEFI setup
    • Make sure onboard or integrated audio is enabled
    • Save changes and restart Windows

6, Create a new local test account

    • Open Settings
    • Go to Accounts and then Other users
    • Create a new local user account
    • Sign in with the new account and test the speaker behavior

Try these steps in Windows 11 to fix the laptop speaker:

    1. Check hardware and basic volume
      • Make sure no headphones or external speakers are plugged in.
      • Check the speaker and headphone jacks for loose connections.
      • Turn the volume up and make sure mute is off in both the taskbar volume control and any app (browser, media player) being used.
    2. Verify the correct output device
      • Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
      • Under Output, select the laptop speakers as the output device. If an external monitor (without speakers) is selected, there will be no sound.
    3. Turn off audio enhancements
      • In Settings > System > Sound, under Output, select the device being used (laptop speakers).
      • Scroll to Advanced settings and set Audio enhancements to Off.
    4. Run the audio troubleshooter
      • Go to Start > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
      • In the Audio section, select Run to start the audio troubleshooter and apply any fixes it suggests.
    5. Update or reinstall the audio driver
      • In the taskbar search box, type device manager and open it.
      • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
      • Right-click the laptop’s audio device (for example, Realtek or similar) and select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.
      • If that does not help, right-click the device again and select Uninstall device, check Attempt to remove the driver for this device, then select Uninstall and restart the PC so Windows reinstalls the driver automatically.
    6. Check Windows Update
      • Select Start > Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates.
      • Install any available updates, restart, and test sound again.

If the volume bar moves but no sound comes from the speakers after these steps, test with external speakers or headphones. If those work but the built-in speakers do not, the issue may be hardware and require device manufacturer support.
