I bought a new computer and installed a free trial of 365 that is now expired. That subscription appears to be linked to payment and address information I entered in 2020 when I was working remotely and bought a charger and had it shipped to me in another country, and the cc is expired. I've added a new card to my account, but the subscription doesn't link to that new payment information. The subscription asks for a new payment method, but will only allow me to enter a cc in the country of that 2020 purchase.
I have called customer service and the automated system directed me to the website.
And here's where it gets weird. I attempt to get the system to connect me to an agent, and fail. And now when I call back, it automatically hangs up on me without asking me why I am calling.
I am trying to give Microsoft my money. And in order to do so I have to sign up for this community board and seek help from the interwebs when I am 100% clear that the website has a problem with my change of location...and how would a stranger who is not in my account help me with that??
The AI response tells me that I can't change country, I have to start a new subscription. Great. How likely is it that I can start a new subscription using the email address associated with the country I happened to be in during 2020? And how did my new subscription get attached to that address in the first place? So I need to now start a new Microsoft account AND a new email address just because the billing system doesn't anticipate that people might migrate?
