Need to change billing information for subscription

I bought a new computer and installed a free trial of 365 that is now expired. That subscription appears to be linked to payment and address information I entered in 2020 when I was working remotely and bought a charger and had it shipped to me in another country, and the cc is expired. I've added a new card to my account, but the subscription doesn't link to that new payment information. The subscription asks for a new payment method, but will only allow me to enter a cc in the country of that 2020 purchase.

I have called customer service and the automated system directed me to the website.

And here's where it gets weird. I attempt to get the system to connect me to an agent, and fail. And now when I call back, it automatically hangs up on me without asking me why I am calling.

I am trying to give Microsoft my money. And in order to do so I have to sign up for this community board and seek help from the interwebs when I am 100% clear that the website has a problem with my change of location...and how would a stranger who is not in my account help me with that??

The AI response tells me that I can't change country, I have to start a new subscription. Great. How likely is it that I can start a new subscription using the email address associated with the country I happened to be in during 2020? And how did my new subscription get attached to that address in the first place? So I need to now start a new Microsoft account AND a new email address just because the billing system doesn't anticipate that people might migrate?

My apologies and you can reach out to the support team at https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/ and then click on Microsoft 365 and then click Get Home Support and then type in Billing question and click the blue button that says Sign in to contact Support and login and proceed from there or you can also request a call back by going to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2168171 in case you are having trouble cancelling and getting a refund. Kindly take note that the forum does not have access to user accounts to be able to check and intervene with account related and billing side of things.

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. Sorry to know about this. Is it the same even if you update your information via https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2195908 and this also includes changing the country and then add the card that you will be using via https://account.microsoft.com/billing/payments?
