    Hi Leigh Cook.

Ads in Outlook for Android usually show when the app isn’t linked to the Microsoft 365 Family subscription. Being signed in with the BT (IMAP) mailbox doesn’t count for the ad-free benefit.

Fix: In Outlook on Android go to Profile icon > Settings > Accounts > Add account > Add Subscription. When it asks you to sign in, use the Microsoft account she used to accept your Family invite (it might be the same BT email address, but she must choose/sign in as a Microsoft account, not add it as IMAP/BT).

Once the subscription account is added, the ads should stop.

Please let me know if this proves useful to you, or if you would like further assistance.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

Ads cannot be removed for a btinternet (non-Outlook.com) account using Outlook for Android, even with Microsoft 365 Family Classic.

    Ad-free benefits apply only when:

    1. The subscription is associated with an Outlook.com mailbox (addresses ending in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com, or @msn.com). In that case, adding that Outlook.com account to Outlook removes ads for that account.
    2. For some subscriptions, the benefit can also apply to a connected Gmail account.

For other third‑party email addresses (like btinternet), Outlook mobile remains an ad‑supported experience.

To get the ad‑free benefit in Outlook for Android for this family member, the options supported are:

    1. Ensure the Microsoft 365 Family subscription is tied to an Outlook.com account, then:
      • Create or use an existing Outlook.com email address for that family member.
      • Add that Outlook.com account in Outlook for Android.
      • Sign in under Settings → Accounts → Add Account → Add Subscription so the app recognizes the subscription.
    2. If the subscription was purchased with a non‑Outlook.com address (for example, a btinternet address), premium Outlook.com features and ad‑free experience do not apply to that non‑Outlook account. In that case, ads for the btinternet mailbox cannot be disabled via the subscription.

The Microsoft 365 Family Classic subscription still provides premium Outlook.com benefits for Outlook.com mailboxes, but it does not remove ads for unrelated third‑party email accounts like btinternet.
